Our way has turned around now. We don’t lose ourselves in the world, we find ourselves more and more in the depths of our being. There awakes a self-observing activity and we feel a foreboding that there will come a time when we will find ourselves by watching ourselves.
Finding me means here that the seed that has been developed in summer will germinate in autumn mood. It is the driving force of my soul that still is a seed, but that will develop to full growth and bloom.
We can try to feel this ‘coming home’ to ourselves, feel the warming of autumn mood, feel the activity of the soul.
The penetrating into the depths of my being
Excites a foreboding yearning
That I may find myself while observing me,
As a gift of summer-sun that as a seed
Lives warming in autumn mood
As driving force of my soul.
In meines Wesens Tiefen dringen:
Erregt ein ahnungsvolles Sehnen,
Dass ich mich selbstbetrachtend finde,
Als Sommersonnengabe, die als Keim
In Herbstesstimmung wärmend lebt
Als meiner Seele Kräftetrieb.
