Magnificat

Now I have received the spiritual gift and I must gain the greatness of soul that is necessary to unify her with the cosmic word. The soul must become a  garment for the spirit. Here we can feel a resemblance with the ‘Magnificat’ of Maria again:

Magnificat anima mea Dominum Et exsultavit spiritus meus in Deo salutari [Salvatore] meo. This is the hymn of Maria, to praise the Lord, in the Gospel of Luke, I, 46 – 55. Maria says:  My soul magnifies the Lord and my spirit exults in God, my Salvator.
But we can feel how our own soul has to become wider, become magnified, to be able to magnify the Lord, to receive the Word.

Can I widen my soul
That she unifies herself
With the received World-Wordgerm?
I sense that I will have to find the strength
To make my soul so dignified
That it can become garment for the spirit.

Kann ich die Seele weiten,
Dass sie sich selbst verbindet
Empfangnem Welten-Keimesworte?
Ich ahne, dass ich Kraft muss finden,
Die Seele würdig zu gestalten,
Zum Geistes-Kleide sich zu bilden.
