Of course, we try to think along with world events. And the question is whether that also changes anything in world affairs when we do so. I believe that when you think along with ordinary, more associative thinking, it doesn’t have much effect. Everyday thoughts—you can sort of just pass right through them—they have little to no power. At least, no power that means anything in world events. But on the other hand, it is known—and this is known even in not particularly spiritual circles—that when you really want something with your thoughts, it does generate a force that helps make what you want happen.

There was, I believe in the early 20th century, a movement of people who were convinced that you can think happiness. That you can also think wealth, as long as you are convinced of it strongly enough and constantly underline it in your thoughts. That it will come to pass. That eventually, I believe, led to the booklet—and the whole movement around it—The Secret, in which a concrete method is described for how to take control of your fate, in a sense, through positive affirmation. Another example, more in the area of health, is the movement brought into the world by Louise Hay. She also, by indicating certain causes for each illness in the soul-life, and giving specific affirmations you can think—or if necessary, speak to yourself—these then work in such a transformative way that you could become better from them. These are, in outer life, well-known movements that proceed from the idea that thoughts have power. And perhaps this is not acknowledged by the—well, let me say—mainstream movements. At least, it seems that way. But I believe that even in those mainstream movements, it is assumed that with certain thoughts, you can achieve results. And that, of course, is a dangerous area. Because if you truly knew how to apply that, and you weren’t moral, what might you bring about with a culture of thought-power?

When I was necessarily involved with the corona crisis, I found a document from the Rockefeller Foundation. In 2010, they published a report of a meeting in which certain scenarios for the future were developed—truly thought out. And in it, there is a scenario for a so-called Lockstep. And that is a scenario of policy, you might say, that was devised for a potential pandemic that might someday occur. But it is described concretely, as actually taking place in 2018. Well, that whole scenario section is preceded by a statement from the person in charge of it, explaining: Why scenarios? And more is discussed, namely the importance of people engaging in advance with things that could happen someday, and then thinking ahead about what kind of scenario you need to write in order to properly manage such a situation. When you then read how that is described for the pandemic, you come—much to your astonishment—to the conclusion that it describes exactly what we later experienced in 2020 and the years that followed. And then, of course, the question arises—or rather, it’s no longer a question, for me it’s a clear indication—that one, in quotation marks, gives shape to the future by writing such scenarios. It would go even further if you were to say: Because it was so strongly imagined, it also happened. That’s another question you could ask yourself. But that is not how it is presented. It is stated: If this ever happens, then we would have to do this, and that, and that. Then it did happen. Not in 2018, but in 2020. And then indeed, this, and that, and that were all carried out.

Now, in our time, a few years later, we actually see something similar emerging. Before Christmas—I also made a video about it back then: Peace on Earth—we saw the Secretary General of NATO make an appearance, warning that more investment must be made in defense, in the military apparatus, because there is a major threat in the near future. We have now had the NATO meeting in the Netherlands. And I read an article about what actually motivates Rutte, still now, to so strongly push through the increase in defense spending. And then you read that he seriously states that there is an enormous movement in Russia to develop the military apparatus to a high level. And that it’s progressing at lightning speed. But then, when you hear others talk about it, they say: Well yes, that’s based on the observations of various committees. But you can’t view that in isolation. You also have to consider Russia’s financial situation, which at the moment is so poor and getting worse, that the question arises as to how things can continue. So that’s the other side. It’s always important to try to see the whole picture and not rely solely on certain observations, which are after all relative.

Anyway. What I actually want to say is that there is a powerful suggestion being made that we must be afraid of war. The question is: These fear-thoughts, of course, also have power. Do they eventually create such a condition? Is it so that the power of the thoughts of a mass of people driven into fear of war ultimately also leads to such a war breaking out? And then comes the next question: Should we, people who see things differently, not place other thoughts in opposition to that? Also united. Of course, there are already many groups doing that. I believe that ultimately has more effect than going out and demonstrating. Although demonstrating is of course meaningful because it becomes visible. These “thought expeditions” of people are not so visible. There are already many groups doing this.

When I witness this development of power within fear-thoughts, it becomes very clear that we, as people who see this differently, must also unite in fear-free thoughts, in thoughts that arise from a conviction that the human being, in essence, is not a warlike creature at all, but a peace-loving being. And that you can just as well call that forth as you can call forth the urge for war.

I read about France—about a pamphlet that calls on young people between the ages of 16 and 21 to register for a kind of one-year course. To orient themselves toward the military mission of France, due to the strengthening of the military apparatus. That is underway, and what impact will that not have on the souls of those young people? Thoughts in themselves are not powerful. But when they are united by will, in multiple people, then they become powerful. And so, a culture of fear in the realm of thought—a kind of negative will—can indeed have an effect, an influence on the course of world events. And so, we must counter it. Our thoughts of peace and love, our thoughts of asking for help from the spiritual beings who ultimately oversee these matters—this is what we must set in motion, insofar as it hasn’t already begun. But very consciously, each person individually, should write a scenario for the near future. A scenario that unfolds quite differently than what, for example, the Secretary General of NATO presents to us.

Those have been my thoughts over the past two weeks. And I will continue to develop these thoughts in the time to come.

The question is: Do thoughts have power?
